Arbanasi is a village in the southeastern part of the Zadar peninsula. Settled at the beginning of the 18th century on the initiative of the people of Bar and Zadar Archbishop Vick Zmajević by the immigration of settlers (Arbanasi-Šestan) from the area above Skadarski lake in three settlements (1726, 1727 and 1733). The great emigration during the Italian occupation between the two world wars: until 1944 an independent settlement (Borgo Erizzo), after which a new wave of emigration (optanti).
The autochthonous Arban-Sestani language (a mixture of the Gegian dialect, Italian and Croatian) has been preserved.
